MBA students Emory University visit ahti
A group of 19 MBA students from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University (USA) visited ahti today to find out more about urban innovation, the Dutch healthcare insurance system and the use of city data to develop interventions.
Smart City Delegations Lead Cornelia Dinca, ahti’s Senior Program Manager Keerthi Prasad and ahti’s Data Specialist Lene Böhnke discussed these topics and answered questions during an afternoon session at the AHTC (Amsterdam Health & Technology Center).
“We wanted to see how a system that is quite different from our own would work,” says Rick Gilkey, Professor in the Practice of Organization & Management at Goizueta Business School, “It gave us a chance to look at it in the context of a different population and helps us understand our own cultural limitations of an American system with an emphasis on individualism versus a collective, social approach. The last presentation about analytics was also very useful in understanding in knowing how to use professional expertise, but also local knowledge and how to bring those together. ”
Located in Atlanta, Georgia, Emory is one of the world’s leading research universities and ranks among the top 25 national universities in U.S. News and World Report’s “America’s Best Colleges” (March 2015).
