Startups
1. Inspectie onderzoekt gang van zaken in praktijken van Quin Dokters – Medisch Contact, 03-09-2021
De Inspectie Gezondheidszorg en Jeugd (IGJ) doet onderzoek naar de gang van zaken binnen huisartsenpraktijken van de nieuwe zorgondernemer Quin. Dat meldt demissionair VWS-staatssecretaris Paul Blokhuis aan de Tweede Kamer na onrust over de geboden huisartsenzorg deze zomer.
In augustus werd het bekend dat Quin Dokters meerdere huisartspraktijken af stootte:

2. Zorginnovatie blijft ondanks recordinvesteringen steken in start-up-fase – Skipr, 28-09-2021
Het lukt relatief weinig ondernemingen die met innovatieve technologie de zorg willen bedienen om op te schalen. Ondanks een recordbedrag van 500 miljoen euro aan investeringen kunnen de meeste start-ups in Nederland niet doorgroeien. Dat blijkt uit onderzoek van non-profitorganisatie Techleap.nl, die oproept tot actie.

5. Castor Raises $45M Series B to Modernize the Clinical Trial Process and Maximize the Impact of Research Data on Patient Lives – Castor, 14-07-2021
Castor, a leading provider of clinical trial software, announced today the closing of a $45 million Series B financing round, bringing the company’s total funding to $65 million. The round, led by Eight Roads Ventures and F-Prime Capital with participation from existing investors Two Sigma Ventures and Inkef Capital, will fuel continued product development with a particular focus on scaling direct-to-patient trials globally.
6. Scale-up Cealus Health starts key study on microbiome product – Innovation exchange Amsterdam (IXA), 28-06-2021
Amsterdam UMC scale-up company Caelus Health has reached an important milestone. Caelus Health recently started a key clinical trial in individuals suffering from Metabolic Syndrome or pre-diabetes; these individuals are at risk of developing Type 2 diabetes.
