A new health ecosystem

Our new vibrant ecosystem in the Amsterdam District of Zuidoost (Southeast) will accelerate a positive change in health.

Amsterdam is full of entrepreneurial talent. It is also a health research hub with a diverse urban population, suitable for study and real life testing. We now bring these powerful forces together and speed up innovation in health and technology.

Igniting an entrepreneurial explosion in the District of Zuidoost (Southeast)

Together with our partners, we create a district dedicated to health and entrepreneurship. Here, leading medical research facilities and health related companies are building a new ecosystem that drives innovation in health. At the heart of the park is the Amsterdam health & technology center: a hub connecting health and care organizations, and a home base for ahti.

And there is more. The neighborhood is now being turned into a vibrant ‘health area’. Public spaces are being transformed. Residential buildings, equipped with the latest age friendly technologies, created for the ageing population. New employment opportunities arise for people living in the area.

With a focus on health and technology, the region between the Academic Medical Center (AMC) and highway A9 is being transformed into a thriving suburb with a mix of facilities and activities for students, young professionals, researchers, expats, startups, new and established businesses, institutions and of course the residents of the surrounding neighborhoods.

AMC, the Academic Medical Center, is key to the development of the area. It is a world institute in the field of health research and care, firmly rooted in the Southeast of Amsterdam. Together with the VUmc, the AMC is at the core of the worldwide reputation of Amsterdam as a health research center.

Greystar doesn't want to be the biggest, but the best. Their focus is on people, genuine relationships and shared values. Greystar wants to create sustainable communities and support a healthy and balanced live-work-learn environment. The project they realize with Blauwhoed is an exponent of this ideal. Greystar is a true ambassador of our health ecosystem.
